Clinical Laboratory Assistant
Job Summary
- Assists laboratory personnel in the execution of laboratory processes and procedures.
- Organizes and maintains clinical samples, inventories, and databases.
- Performs general laboratory management duties, including ordering lab supplies, maintaining inventory and other stocked supplies, mail, and package delivery.
- Performs administrative duties such as filing, answering phone calls, copying forms, chart completion, and printing labels for laboratory materials.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
- Some laboratory experience.
- Clinical laboratory experience, including experience with patient databases and/or electronic health records.
SKILLS
Required
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities.
- Demonstrates a high commitment to quality.
- Experience in a regulated environment.
Working Conditions / Demands
The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
