SUMMARY

York County Community College (YCCC) is seeking a passionate individual to join as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor for the Clinical Pathology course in the Veterinary Technology program. This in-person course at the Wells campus includes one lecture and two laboratory sections, with a flexible schedule on Thursdays or Fridays.

The role involves delivering high-quality instruction, fostering critical thinking, and preparing students for careers in animal care and veterinary fields. Candidates must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinarian with a degree from an AVMA-accredited institution and current licensure in Maine, plus at least two years of clinical experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Instructional Delivery: Deliver engaging instruction in face-to-face formats, using strategies for diverse learning styles and technology tools.
• Course Design and Preparation: Prepare and update course materials to align with academic standards.
• Student Engagement and Support: Foster an inclusive environment, provide feedback, and hold office hours.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student performance through various activities and adjust instruction based on outcomes.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively on course matters.
• Curriculum Development: Contribute to course improvements and incorporate field advancements.
• Professional Development: Engage in ongoing development and participate in meetings.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with policies and submit accurate reports.
• Commitment to Student Success: Support students' academic and professional growth.

Delivery Method: In-person at the Wells campus.

Start/End Date: Spring Semester 2025

Location: YCCC Wells Campus

Schedule: Specific days and times TBD, flexible to Thursdays or Fridays

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed Veterinary Technicians or Veterinarians from an AVMA accredited school, licensed in Maine.
• Available to teach on campus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Teaching experience at the college level.
