Clinical Pharmacist
Job Description

We are currently building world-class institutes for the treatment of diabetes and cancer.
Duties:
- Develops, reviews, and evaluates clinical guidelines for medications used in State management protocols to include medication reviews and evaluation for Medicare/Medicaid patients and the guidelines used for the State of Oklahoma medication protocols.
- Evaluates medication prior authorization requests and provide results of approval/denial to requested parties.
- Develops, reviews, and evaluates retrospective Drug Utilization Review (DUR) criteria.
- Provides clinical consults on complex retrospective DUR cases and/or medication authorization requests.
- Suggests therapeutic alternatives to providers when sub-optimal therapies have been identified.
- Participates in the development and presentation of educational intervention programs.
- Prepares or reviews articles pertaining to clinical therapies and guidelines for the DUR newsletter.
- Conducts research and reviews of the literature on medication therapies when there is a high cost issue, quality of care, etc.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
Required education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD AND: 12 months Pharmacy experience.
Certifications/ Licenses: Licensed Pharmacist by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy or obtain licensure within 90 days of hire. Must possess or be able to obtain an Oklahoma Preceptor's license by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy within one year of hire.
Working Conditions: Physical: Sitting for long periods of time, Reading, Manual dexterity. Environmental: Office Environment.
Department Preferences: 1 Year as a Pharmacy Resident.
Salary Range: Targeted salary of $115,000 annually, based upon experience. Benefits Provided: Yes. Required Attachments: Resume.
