Clinical Professor of Nursing- Houston
The Department of Nursing at Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Professor position to start Summer 2026 for the growing campus in Houston. This 12-month faculty position supports the delivery of high-quality nursing education through teaching, student engagement, and curriculum development. The successful candidate will teach 12 credit hours per semester in the Accelerated BSN (ABSN) and Direct-Entry MSN (DEMSN) programs. Responsibilities include fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment and contributing to the mission and strategic goals of the institution.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing required, Doctorate in nursing or related field preferred.
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Texas or eligibility to obtain one.
- Evidence of at least two years of clinical experience within the last four years.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide classroom instruction with a commitment to excellence, integrating evidence-based practice and research
- Evaluate students in the accelerated program, providing feedback and coaching consistent with the program outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing program and clinical site partners to ensure effective student placements.
- Collaborate with adjunct clinical faculty to ensure quality learning experiences.
- Participate in the development, review, and improvement of nursing curricula in alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with nursing trends and best practices. Participating in scholarly activities to advance nursing education and clinical practice.
- Contribute to shared governance of the nursing program and institution through committee work and service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with a broad range of students, including students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Experience in program development and evaluation, curriculum design, and teaching in an undergraduate baccalaureate nursing program.
- Successful teaching experience in various formats, including instructional technology, concept-based curriculum, flipped classroom, interprofessional, and team teaching.
- Experience building and promoting community relationships, including developing student practicums in nursing.
- Successful implementation of evidence-based practice or research utilization projects.
