Responsibilities
The Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases (IPRD) at the Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine invites applications for a Psychologist faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. This is a non-tenure earning, 12-month position with responsibilities spanning clinical service, teaching, and research.
Clinical Service: Provide evidence-based psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and therapeutic services for children and families affected by rare diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders including autism and intellectual disability. Work closely with pediatricians, medical geneticists, genetic counselors, and other health professionals within IPRD.
Teaching and Training: Contribute to the training of students across multiple programs within the College of Medicine, including participation in the supervision and education of medical, psychology, and genetic counseling trainees.
Research: Develop and/or participate in clinical and translational research related to developmental psychopathology, rare disease phenotyping, or interventions. Support IPRD’s multidisciplinary research initiatives, including behavioral phenotyping in genetic syndromes and development of precision behavioral interventions.
Qualifications
PhD or PsyD in Clinical or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
Completion of an APA-accredited internship in clinical psychology.
Specialization in child and developmental clinical psychology.
License or license eligibility as a clinical or school psychologist in the State of Florida.
Demonstrated interest or experience in academic clinical practice, research, and/or teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
Fellowship training in pediatric neuropsychology especially desired.
Clinical experience with neurodevelopmental disorders including autism and intellectual disability, rare disease populations, or pediatric behavioral medicine.
Evidence of scholarly activity, such as publications, funded research, or development of clinical programs.
Experience supervising students, interns, or postdoctoral fellows.
Other Information
The ideal candidate: We seek a licensed or license-eligible clinical, school, or neuropsychologist with specialization in child and developmental psychology, with experience in pediatrics cognitive and behavioral assessments, including autism diagnostic evaluation with the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).
