The University of Texas Permian Basin's Department of Psychology welcomes applications for an open rank tenure-track faculty position in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology. The successful candidate is expected hold the Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology and hold licensure as a Licensed Psychologist in Texas or be able to attain licensure in Texas within six months after appointment. Salary Range
$130,000.00 depending on qualifications and/or experience
Essential Functions
This position will include practicum supervision and graduate courses such as intellectual and personality assessment, and psychopathology. The faculty member will teach three courses in each of the spring and fall semesters (18 credits per academic year), and a willingness to teach online is desired. The candidate should demonstrate professional competence in clinical supervision and training. Responsibilities:
- Teach courses based on departmental needs and expertise.
- Conduct research related to one's expertise and apply for research grants as appropriate
- Participate in curricular development.
- Provide direct clinical supervision for trainees in the Clinical Psychology graduate program as an individual supervisor/practicum course instructor. Participate in departmental training, faculty meetings, and other departmental activities. Maintain regular contact with psychology department faculty to coordinate training needs.
- Conduct regular program development and evaluation in supervision-related activities.
- Provide support to students in need of academic improvement.
- Provide service to the university, college, and department.
- Actively participate in the department's expansion.
Required Qualifications
- Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology or a closely related field from an APA approved program
- Able to satisfy one of the following:
- a. Currently licensed as a psychologist in the State of Texas
- b. Eligible for licensure in the State of Texas within six months after appointment
- c. Must have taken and passed the EPPP exam prior to hire AND plan on earning their license in the State of Texas within 12 months after their appointment
