Clinical Research Assistant, Early Intervention Program, Department of Emergency Medicine
Job Overview
The UC Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati has been an independent academic unit within the College of Medicine since 1984. The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Clinical Research Assistant to perform the duties of carrying out our current substance use disorder and harm reduction project as well as other Early Intervention Program grant funded projects.
Essential Functions
- Work in conjunction with hospital clinical staff and communicates with the treating teams, provides administrative assistance to lead coordinators and principal investigators with documentation needs and research data maintenance and reporting.
- Works to identify eligible patients and approaches them for informed consent, enrolling subjects as outlined in IRB approval protocols and performing study procedures; schedules study-related appointments by phone.
- Welcome and assist study participants with registration. Provide general information concerning the study. Assist with completing necessary paperwork and ensure that all the appropriate data has been included. Accurately enters data from electronic medical records, or paper research charts, into study specific electronic data capture systems in a timely manner.
- Perform routine physical/clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, blood pressure readings, pulse etc.
- Perform ECG/EKGs and blood draws, Processing blood and body fluid specimens and preparing them for shipping.
- Will work rotating schedule that includes, day, evening and night shifts, weekends and holidays.
