Clinical Research Coordinator A/B
Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to support funded research studies focused on outcomes of lung transplantation. Depending on experience level, the CRC will work under moderate or minimal supervision. Tasks include but are not limited to screening and enrollment of participants, collection and entry of clinical, imaging and anthropomorphic data, coordination of study activities across participating external institutions, maintaining appropriate study documentation, and assisting with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and inquiries. The candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results. The coordinator will need to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with the study team, and display organizational efficiency and adapt to new processes as necessary.
Job Responsibilities
Clinical Research Coordinator A: The clinical research coordinator will support research studies in lung transplantation. Duties include performing clinical data capture into web-based case report forms; collecting and de-identifying radiology studies; and coordinating collection of radiology studies and clinical data across multiple lung transplant centers; and preparing data for analysis. The CRC-A will organize and maintain study documentation, participate in study team meetings, and show vigilance in patient safety, protocol compliance, data integrity, and adhere to all University of Pennsylvania and GCP guidelines. The CRC-A will work within a team of clinical coordinators, scientists, and physicians to accomplish these tasks.
Clinical Research Coordinator B: In addition to the above, the CRC B will establish workflows, pathways, and methods to operationalize protocols, regularly prepare, draft, and submit regulatory correspondences, and mentor/train less experienced research staff in the completion of their duties when required. The CRC-B will have less supervision and will need to use more independent judgment when managing their assigned research studies.
Qualifications
- CRC A: Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- CRC B: Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
