Clinical Research Coordinator B - Division of Epidemiology
Job Description Summary
Dr. Kelly Getz is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to provide clinical coordinator and data support to ongoing cohort studies of pediatric acute leukemia. The coordinator will be expected to perform detailed, standardized chart abstractions, serve as resource for other staff performing chart abstractions, and develop the capacity to provide data management support for this and other projects. Additional tasks may include providing support for manuscript preparation, including development of summary data tables, and providing support for collaborative mixed methods and qualitative research projects. The estimated division of duties is 75% chart abstraction/data collection support and 25% support for other research activities. The coordinator will be expected to be able to interact professionally and independently with outside investigative teams and institutions participating in these cohort studies.
Job Responsibilities
- Manual Data collection through medical chart abstraction and chart abstraction support.
- Maintain source documents and case report forms. Review and enter data into study databases to ensure data quality and compliance with study protocol. Resolve queries received from data coordinating center of multi-site projects in a timely manner.
- Support for manuscript preparation and support for collaborative mixed methods and qualitative research projects.
- Assist data management team in the database development, data management, cleaning, and queries.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of IRB protocols including initial submissions, modifications, and continuing reviews. Address questions/concerns raised by the IRB.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of clinical research experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. The candidate should possess the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Strong planning, organizational and prioritizing capabilities are essential. Experience with Redcap or similar electronic data capture system is preferred. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with patients both in the inpatient and in outpatient hospital setting.
