Clinical Senior Lecturer (Educ) and Academic Lead - 16239

Brunel University London was established in 1966 and is a leading multidisciplinary research-intensive technology university delivering economic, social and cultural benefits.

Brunel Medical School welcomed its first intake of students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has a number of distinctive features, including team-based learning, programmatic assessment & early patient clinical contact in years 1&2. A range of digital technologies are being used to enhance learning, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are embedded across all aspects of the student experience.

We are recruiting a new Senior Clinical Lecturer post on a permanent basis. In addition, the Senior Clinical Lecturer will be expected to fulfil the role of Academic Lead for Year 4, for a 5-year duration, with potential to extend.

The postholder will be a senior clinician, GMC registered with a licence to practice, and in practice as a GP or consultant. They will have experience of educational leadership and a track record of high quality undergraduate medical education, preferably in a university-affiliated role. Ideally, they will have experience of student selection, assessment and student support.

The postholder will have a significant external facing role, working in collaboration with the Directors of Undergraduate Education (DUEs), Specialty Leads and Module Leads at the partner NHS Trusts affiliated with BMS. The postholder will contribute to other areas of medical education, such as TBL, the House Tutor system, Multiple Mini Interviewing and OSCE. They will also participate in the ongoing General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation process.
