Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Writer to join the Immunisation Advisory Centre (IMAC) within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. This role plays a critical part in translating scientific evidence and clinical expertise into clear, accurate, and practical advice that supports immunisation practice across Aotearoa. Working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, you will contribute to nationally significant guidance, resources, and communications that support health professionals, stakeholders, and communities.

This is a 30h – 37.5h hours per week fixed term role for 12 months.

The salary range for the role is $87,000 - $103,000 based on skills and experience.

He kōrero mōu | About you | Our ideal candidate

You are a confident and thoughtful clinical or scientific writer who enjoys working at the intersection of evidence, policy, and practice. You bring a strong understanding of the New Zealand health system and have a proven ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, accessible guidance. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and urgency, you are collaborative, proactive, and committed to producing high-quality work that makes an impact. You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (clinical or health sciences preferred)
  • At least three years’ experience in policy, scientific, or clinical writing for health audiences with expertise relevant to immunisation
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and synthesising evidence-based research and developing clinical guidance or protocols
  • Experience interpreting legislation, national standards and regulatory requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
