Posting Context Statement:
The successful candidate should be prepared for a collaborative, mentoring-oriented transition. The position is designed for long-term continuity, with expectations of stepping into the permanent Executive Director role. Workload will be coordinated with the candidate’s home department and the Dean’s Office.
Position Overview:
The Co-Director of the INSPIRE Center works alongside the current Executive Director during a one-year transition period beginning October 2026, with the intent to assume the Executive Director role.
The Co-Director supports Center operations, strategic planning, grant-funded initiatives, staff supervision, assessment, outreach, and university-level collaborations central to advancing the success of first-generation, and income-eligible student populations.
Required Experience:
- Current University of Idaho employee (faculty or staff) eligible for internal recruitment
- Experience in program administration, project coordination, or leadership of student success initiatives
- Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively across units and working in a team-based environment
Required Education:
- Master’s degree in education, counseling, social sciences, leadership or related field
Additional Preferred:
- Demonstrated progressively responsible professional experience (e.g., 3 or more years) in student success programs, TRIO, federally funded programs, or higher education administration
- Experience working with, or administering, externally funded educational opportunity programs
- Experience with federal grant compliance, reporting, budgeting, or proposal development
- Demonstrated involvement or leadership in relevant educational opportunity or college access professional associations
- Supervisory experience, particularly in student success or academic support settings
- Experience in strategic planning, assessment, or program evaluation
- Demonstrated commitment to leadership and responsive student support
- Familiarity with University of Idaho academic programs, student services infrastructure and institutional policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
