Position: The College of Education invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Elementary Education with three years PreK-12 grade teaching experience in public schools. Faculty with expertise in elementary education curriculum and instruction with demonstrated knowledge and experience in reading instruction and assessment, writing instruction, and supporting multilingual learners are encouraged to apply. Preferred begin date is August 2027.
Qualifications: Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction or an education-related field. ABD applications will be considered, but the appointment will be at the instructor rank, and all degree requirements must be completed by August 1, 2027. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching and working with teacher candidates and novice teachers; expertise in elementary education literacy curriculum, instruction, and assessment; demonstrated knowledge and experience supporting multilingual learners and/or urban schools; a promise high-quality research; the ability to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues and school-based partners, and commitment to working across programs, disciplines, and cultures to strengthen the field.
Salary and Benefits: Targeted salary range is $70,000-$73,000, commensurate with experience.
