Coffee Shop Assistant - TE
The position involves independently managing the daily operations of the Wisconsin Union-Robin's Nest, a small coffee shop, including preparing and serving beverages, operating the register, and maintaining inventory levels. The role requires a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Excellent customer service skills are essential to create a friendly and positive experience for all patrons.
Schedule for position is: 7:30am - 3pm Monday - Thursday. *May vary based on department needs. Robin's Nest is at UW Madison- Nicholas Hall (School of Human Ecology Building).
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assists and guides student workers
- Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
- Greets customers, answers questions, and provides basic information regarding food preparation and associated activities
- Performs routine food preparation activities such as portioning, chopping food, and serving food to customers
- Adheres to federal, state, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Prepares a variety of basic dishes such as sandwiches and salads, and assists in the preparation of more complex dishes
