Job Opportunities in SDUT

Shandong University of Technology has positions each year, teaching English as a Foreign Language or other academic courses. Our University covers 240 hectares and it is located in Zibo City Shandong Province China. Zibo City is the birth place of Qi Culture, it is close to Qufu (Confucius hometown) and Mountain Tai. Convenient transportation makes it possible to every city in China, for instance, 3 hours to Beijing, 5 hours to Shanghai. It boasts famous Lu cuisine, one of the four major cuisines in China. The level of consumption is low and the pace of life is also slow here.

SDUT is a university of 36,000 students and many different colleges – Engineering, Languages, Fashion, Sciences, Business…etc. There are two campuses. Foreign teachers live on the West Campus, the newest campus. East Campus is closer to the downtown, and it is about a 20-minute bike-ride or 10-minute taxi-ride away. Each semester some teachers teach on both or only one campus. On West Campus, there are 3 supermarkets, 4 cafeterias and 3 cafes. The surrounding area has many restaurants, super-markets, a movie theater, cafes, a malletc., so everything you’ll need is in walking distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or above
• Native English speaker
• Between the ages of 24 and 65
• If the degree is not English language or Pedagogy related programs, at least two years teaching experience or TEFL/TESOL Certificate will be needed

Details of the Position

• Workload: Maximum 18 hours of instruction per week
• Five days per week
• Courses: Spoken English, English Writing

Salary and Benefits

• 8,000 to 9,000 RMB per month, (30% to 70% convertible to foreign currency), depending on qualifications
• RMB 8000 Yuan as the allowance of international air tickets for one academic year contract
