Position Summary
Talladega College seeks an innovative, strategic, and technology-driven College Registrar to provide visionary leadership for the Office of the Registrar. Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President, the Registrar serves as the institution’s chief steward of academic records, student information systems, enrollment data integrity, and academic compliance.
The Registrar will lead the modernization of registrar operations through technology, process improvement, and data-informed decision-making while ensuring exceptional customer service, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all Registrar operations while supervising a team of fewer than three staff members.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and operational workflows related to registration, records management, degree auditing, curriculum processing, graduation, and academic scheduling.
Technology, Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Serve as the institutional functional leader for Jenzabar (J1) Student Information System (SIS).
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, workflow automation, and digital solutions.
Data Strategy, Analytics & Institutional Reporting
- Serve as the College’s primary authority on academic records and enrollment reporting.
- Produce executive-level reports and dashboards supporting enrollment trends, retention, graduation rates, and student success metrics.
Compliance & Academic Records Administration
- Maintain complete compliance with FERPA and all applicable federal and state regulations.
Academic Operations & Student Success
- Partner with faculty, deans, department chairs, and academic leadership regarding course scheduling, curriculum implementation, academic catalog updates, degree audits, and graduation certification.
Transfer, Articulation & Student Mobility
- Maintain expertise in the Alabama Transfer Model and statewide articulation agreements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience in registrar operations, academic administration, enrollment services, or institutional effectiveness, including at least three years in a supervisory leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise using Student Information Systems, preferably Jenzabar (J1).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
- Demonstrated leadership in digital transformation or enterprise technology implementation.
Compensation
Salary Range: $60,000–$75,000 annually, commensurate with education, experience, and institutional benchmarks.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-campus leadership position requiring occasional evening and weekend work during registration, commencement, and institutional reporting cycles.
