We’re looking for an experienced administrator or governance professional to join St Antony’s College as College Secretary.
Reporting to the Bursar (COO), you will provide high-level support for the College’s governance and committee processes. You will also coordinate regulatory compliance, helping ensure the College meets its responsibilities as a registered charity and UK public body.
About the role:
Working closely with Trustees, Fellows and senior colleagues, you will:
- Organise key College committees, including preparing papers and accurate minutes
- Advise committee chairs, monitor actions and maintain governance records
- Support policy reviews and trustee matters
- Coordinate the recruitment and induction of Governing Body Fellows
- Act as the College’s Information Officer, managing Freedom of Information requests
- Coordinate regulatory returns and maintain relevant governance information
- Draft consultancy agreements on behalf of the Bursar
You will have:
- Significant relevant administrative experience, including supporting senior colleagues or committees
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Experience preparing committee papers and minutes
- Sound judgement and strong attention to detail
- Awareness of legislation affecting UK public bodies, including Freedom of Information
- Strong IT skills
- Tact and discretion when handling confidential information
- A proactive, collaborative and flexible approach
