The Communications & Marketing Officer develops, executes and optimizes integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, lead generation and student enrollment. This position helps drive the college's digital marketing strategy, campaign management, marketing automation and performance analytics. The position requires someone who understands how campaigns perform, can interpret results and suggest improvements while partnering with leadership on broader strategic direction. Working closely with program stakeholders, this role plays a key part in bringing campaigns to life, elevating the college's brand and improving marketing effectiveness over time.
Opened in 2025 and powered by a University of South Florida record $40 million gift from Arnie and Lauren Bellini, USF's Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing is the first in Florida, and among the first in the nation, to unify AI, cybersecurity, and computing within a single college. More than 65 faculty members focus on cutting-edge research and educating 3,000+ bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students across 15 degree programs in computer science, cybersecurity, AI, information technology, and computer engineering. The college emphasizes industry-relevant education and experiential learning to prepare students for real-world challenges. It also serves as the central hub for AI and cybersecurity research and teaching at USF, collaborating with colleges and units across the university.
Responsibilities
Marketing Automation and CRM Management
- Manage marketing automation workflows and lead nurturing campaigns using HubSpot or similar CRM platforms.
- Build audience segments, email workflows and automated communication journeys.
- Collaborate with recruitment staff to improve lead conversion and enrollment outcomes, assisting with recruitment efforts if/when needed.
Performance Tracking and Optimization
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance across digital channels, including website traffic, engagement, lead generation, conversions and enrollment-focused metrics using Google Analytics 4, HubSpot and other reporting platforms.
- Develop and maintain performance reports and dashboards, translating data into actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness through audience segmentation, messaging refinement, channel optimization and conversion-focused strategies.
Digital Presence and Social Media
- Develop and maintain annual and monthly content calendars aligned with enrollment and engagement goals.
- Manage day-to-day execution of social media, including content scheduling, posting and campaign support.
- Assist with the creation and adaptation of digital content using Canva and other approved design platforms, ensuring alignment with university and college brand standards.
- Collaborate with communications, recruitment and web teams to coordinate content priorities and campaign messaging.
- Analyze social media performance and recommend content strategies that increase engagement and audience growth
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Requirements
- 3 years of experience in related positions
- Experience in higher education marketing, enrollment marketing or academic communications.
- Experience managing digital advertising campaigns through Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager or similar platforms.
- Experience using HubSpot, Slate, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or comparable CRM and marketing automation platforms.
- Experience with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and digital marketing reporting tools.
- Knowledge of lead generation, lead nurturing and conversion optimization strategies.
- Experience developing marketing dashboards and communicating campaign performance to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with SEO, AEO, landing page optimization and website analytics.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and evaluating advertising performance.
- Strong understanding of prospective student recruitment marketing and enrollment funnels.
