Base Salary $112,628 - $122,702 p.a. + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is looking for a Communications and Digital Officer to be a part of the step change in the way we communicate. You'll join a faculty rich in ideas, disciplines and perspectives, working with extraordinary people and compelling research to help tell our story and engage our staff with the work we do and its impact. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is equally confident producing a range of internal communications materials and activities-including but not limited to writing, video production, event management, and newsletter development-and evaluating their impact. The overarching purpose of the role is to help staff feel a stronger sense of connection, clarity, and belonging within the Faculty and its strategic direction.
Reporting to the FASS Communications Manager, you will:
- Assist in the implementation of the Faculty's overarching communication strategy and planning framework.
- Support central communication resources and coordinate activities across schools and key university partners.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders and external partners to assist in marketing and communications planning within the Faculty.
- Produce and distribute e-newsletters using the University's defined platforms and manage associated distribution lists
- Initiate and produce and or edit digital content such as videos, infographics and written content for online and printed channels, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and clarity of message.
- Manage various aspects of events from developing and distributing invitations, hands-on help at events and post implementation reviews.
- Analyse measures of success for communication activities to ensure effectiveness and impact.
About you
You're a passionate communications generalist-with ambitions to grow your professionalism and experience in employee engagement. You bring:
- Qualifications in a relevant field and/or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to influence and advise stakeholders.
- Excellent writing, editing and storytelling capabilities across a range of channels and audiences.
- A natural curiosity and drive for continuous improvement.
- Confidence in shaping and governing messaging and channel frameworks.
- A collaborative and agile mindset, with the energy to bring people together and lead through change.
- A track record of using content management systems (CMS) to publish and manage digital content with ease and precision.
- Excellent videography and editing skills, graphic design, Sharepoint management and list management capabilities
- Excellent event management capabilities
- Ideally, experience working in the higher education sector or a similarly complex environment.
