Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
You will help deliver communications and events that boost student employability and build strong UC partnerships. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing friendly reception and admin support to keep Centre operations running smoothly.
- Managing inbox queries, databases, webpages, and online resources to ensure information stays current.
- Assisting with communications campaigns, creating and releasing content including drafting emails, content updates, and social media support.
- Coordinating event logistics such as invitations, venues, catering, equipment, and onsite assistance.
- Working with UC Communications, Events, and Marketing teams to ensure aligned, high-quality outputs.
- Preparing reports, tracking campaign performance, and supporting continuous improvement.
- Supporting events by liaising with suppliers, volunteers, speakers, and VIPs.

You will enjoy working with people, contributing to a collaborative team, and ensuring high-quality service for students and stakeholders. You will bring:
- Either a qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Communications or Marketing) or have 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong communication skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence using digital tools, databases, and Microsoft Office
- Experience supporting communications campaigns and event coordination
- High customer-service standards and a friendly, professional manner

Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With
In this role, you will work closely with the Centre’s leadership team, the wider Communications and Events team, and colleagues across the Centre for Employability and Career Development. You will also regularly collaborate with UC’s Marketing team, external suppliers, students, and a wide range of staff and stakeholders across the University to support the successful delivery of communications and events.
