The over-arching principle of the Carosika Collaborative is to achieve equity in preterm birth outcomes in a culturally responsive way.

The Carosika Collaborative is well-positioned to take its next steps in building our national profile. This exciting new position will take responsibility for the development, expansion and execution of engaging marketing communications and campaigns and for event management support.

Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional individual for this new role as Communications and Marketing Advisor to support the Carosika Collaborative through its next stage of growth. We are seeking an experienced individual with passion to make a positive impact across the community. This is an opportunity to join a significant ‘grass-roots’ project with inclusiveness and equity at its core, and to have an instrumental role in building and expanding a national profile for multiple audiences across a range of platforms.  

You will be directly responsible to the Steering Group and will provide leadership in promotion and engagement to expand the reach of Carosika Collaborative’s work across whānau, healthcare providers and other service users. 

This is a part-time (22.5 to 30 hours pw), fixed term (up to 12 months) opportunity.

The remuneration is $73,400 - $90,700 pro rated, dependent on skills and experience.

The Carosika Collaborative is hosted at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland. The position is located at the Liggins Institute, where you will enjoy a close-knit, high performing culture. In addition, you will enjoy working with some high-profile clinicians and researchers and contribute to work that will be truly life-changing for future generations.

He kōrero mōu | About you

The successful candidate will be a positive, energetic and highly motivated self-starter who works in a culturally responsive way and wants to contribute to their community. You will be a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills who enjoys working autonomously and effectively with a diverse range of people, embracing and encouraging a diversity of cultural backgrounds.

You will have:

  • Experience in communications and marketing including development of communications strategies and/or plans.
  • Experience and proven success in producing short-form videos end-to-end, including filming, editing, and shaping clear, engaging stories from concept to final delivery.
  • Familiarity with using existing templates to create design collateral for both print and digital channels.
  • Familiarity with publishing web content via content management systems.
  • Skilled at writing professional copy for web and other channels.
  • Experience in healthcare and/or a good understanding of this sector.
  • Knowledge and experience of tikanga Māori and workplace protocols and practice.
  • Experience working with Māori and Pacific and/or Indian communities.

Preferable:

  • Experience in journalism including in creating and editing video could be a good fit for this role.
