Position Summary
The
Office of
Curriculum, Assessment and Teaching Transformation
(CATT) is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented
Communications Assistant to support the
department's communications efforts, business operations, and
faculty engagement initiatives. This position plays a key role in
coordinating communications and marketing campaigns, supporting
events, managing digital content, assisting with podcast and video
production, maintaining online forms and webpages, and providing
project coordination for departmental initiatives. The
Communications Assistant also supports purchasing and
administrative workflows, monitors departmental communication
channels, and helps ensure the effective delivery of CATT programs
and services. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment, possess strong organizational and
communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous
learning and supporting faculty excellence through innovative
communications and operational support.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the development and execution of email marketing
campaigns, including drafting communications, managing mailing
lists, and tracking campaign effectiveness.
Support the planning, promotion, registration, and execution of
university workshops, events, and programs by creating and managing
registration workflows, coordinating communications and marketing
materials, and providing project support.
Assist with the production of audio and video content by
coordinating schedules, supporting recording sessions, and
performing basic editing and post-production tasks.
Maintain and update webpages and digital content to ensure
information is accurate, current, and aligned with university
branding and accessibility standards.
Provide administrative support for departmental business
operations, including inventory management, purchasing, budgeting,
and other operational functions.

Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing
or a closely related field.
- 1 year of professional experience in communications or
administrative support, with demonstrated experience in project
coordination, event support, and/or digital content
management.
An equivalent combination of education, professional experience,
and/or relevant military training may be considered in lieu of the
required bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp)
and online registration or form management tools (e.g.,
Formstack).
- Experience maintaining website content using a content
management system (CMS).
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e.g.,
Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition) for creating and
editing digital content.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced
skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience creating and maintaining accessible digital content
in accordance with web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and
applicable accessibility requirements.
- Experience planning, coordinating, and supporting professional
development programs, conferences, workshops, or other events.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously, prioritize competing deadlines, and work
independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal,
organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail
skills.
- Experience working in a higher education environment with an
understanding of university operations, faculty support, and
academic programs.
Physical Demands
Salary Range
$56,500 - $58,500
