Job Duties:

The Golda Meir Library seeks a part-time Communications Manager to develop and implement its communication strategies and plans. The position reports to the Library Director. Application requires submission of a writing portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

• Manages the day-to-day communication plans to align with strategic initiatives and meet established objectives
• Plans, writes, and edits compelling content for various communication projects and marketing platforms
• Coordinates the upkeep of the library's website, social media, and other digital communication platforms
• Plans and directs unit programs and/or projects to ensure deadlines and budgets are met
• Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures
• Develops, implements, and delivers communication and marketing materials through various mediums to designated audiences
• Serves as the library's liaison to Marketing & Communications, Advancement, and other UWM units on communication matters
• Assists in event planning

Compensation:

$43,120 - $55,000 (Pro-rated for 0.8 FTE). Salary offered will be based on experience.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English or other relevant field
• Evidence of excellent written communication skills
• Demonstrated job experience with web content management systems
• Demonstrated job experience managing social media platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in professional writing, communications, journalism, or marketing
• Experience with WordPress
• Experience managing professional Facebook and Instagram accounts
• Experience with Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop, Adobe Express, and Illustrator

Education:

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English or other relevant field.
