As Communications Officer (Graduate Research) at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the experience of over 5000 graduate researchers and their supervisors across nine faculties. You'll develop engaging digital content, manage internal communications, and collaborate with key stakeholders to support best practices in graduate research. This role offers you the chance to directly impact the success of one of Australia's largest and most diverse graduate research communities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and Optimise Digital Content: Create engaging web content with a focus on customer experience, ensuring accessibility and SEO best practices.
  • Manage Internal Communications: Produce high-quality materials for websites, intranets, newsletters, and social content, including coordinating video content development.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with academic and professional staff to understand user needs and document information requirements.
  • Conduct Research and Analysis: Perform content audits, analyse user experience, and contribute to customer journey mapping.

You may be a great fit if you are a creative and detail-oriented communications professional with excellent writing skills, a customer-centric approach, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced academic environment.

You may also have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, extensive experience in developing customer-centered web copy, knowledge of HTML and SEO principles, strong interpersonal skills, excellent time management and problem-solving abilities, experience with content management systems (Squiz Matrix CMS is desirable), and an understanding of the academic and personal issues facing graduate researchers.
