General Responsibilities The Communications Specialist supports the creation and delivery of clear, accurate, and engaging communications. This role produces written, digital, and visual content across a variety of platforms and ensures alignment with institutional brand standards. The position requires strong writing, editing, and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. Key Duties & Responsibilities Supports unit-wide communications initiatives by gathering information, preparing materials, and coordinating distribution using university-approved platforms and tools. Drafts, edits, and produces content for channels that may include web, email, social media, video, newsletters, and print publications. Tracks and reports on engagement metrics to evaluate communications effectiveness. Provides logistical and administrative support for communication projects and initiatives. Collaborates with colleagues and stakeholders to implement communications projects and initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Duties Media writing and editing/proofreading, web management (CMS), email communications and newsletters, social media, basic graphic design and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud. Understanding of digital accessibility standards and how to create digitally accessible content is also a plus. Salary Range $47,665-$71,800 Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
