Communications Specialist-Dept
Job Description
Augusta University is Georgia's innovation center for education and health care. The Communications Specialist will manage all internal and external communications efforts for the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences (SCCS).
Responsibilities
The duties include but are not limited to: Internal communications support, serving as the lead communications advisor to SCCS, leading strategic communications planning, overseeing production of communication materials, participating in school outreach efforts, planning and directing daily communications functions, developing internal employee engagement plans, providing support at events, managing SCCS social media platforms, and serving as the point of contact for school swag design and ordering. Primary liaison between SCCS, Communications and Marketing to develop and implement strategic communication plans. Content development and management, including drafting and editing information, scheduling meetings, writing internal stories, maintaining media archives, creating photography for communications, and managing digital communication. Outreach coordination and support for various programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field and a minimum of three years of experience in a professional role in communications, marketing, or public relations.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of graphic design techniques and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite). Working knowledge of FERPA and/or higher education policy preferred. Experience marketing graduate and undergraduate programs.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Must possess working knowledge of the fundamentals of marketing practices. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills. Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records, and make independent decisions.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; M-F. Pay Band: B7. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, retirement options, vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays.
