Community Outreach Representative
The Center for Urban and Regional Analysis (CURA), within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Community Outreach Representative to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The Community Outreach Representative develops and manages partnerships with local and state government and community organizations and works with center leadership and community partners on CURA strategic research directions, identifying research needs/opportunities involving urban science and policy applications of urban geospatial data and analytics. The individual in this position meets regularly with community organizations and governmental leadership to determine research goals, benchmarks, and deliverables, and engages and communicates with clients and stakeholders regarding urban research needs, applications and outcomes. This role manages activities and working relationships with community partners, identifying logistical needs and expectations. The Community Outreach Representative organizes and delivers educational and outreach events to The Ohio State University's urban mission, including workshops, presentations and community meetings. The individual in this position manages the centers social media pages, creates content for the blog and annual report, manages and maintains the center website, provides marketing strategies and engages the community in CURA activities, and compiles and distributes the monthly CURA newsletter. This role develops workshops and presents materials to support urban science and policy applications and organizes and coordinates events for the center to increase visibility and community engagement. The Community Outreach Representative provides administrative support for center faculty, staff, and students, initiates travel spend authorizations and travel reimbursement requests, manages center inventory and purchasing requests, and initiates billing and earnings unit invoicing in collaboration with the Center Consulting Manager through Workday. The individual in this position functions as manager liaison for center managers in workday, supporting transactions including (but not limited to) student appointment and termination management, and position posting and management. This role works closely with the Department Manager to ensure compliance with OSU policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Required/Desired Education & Experience
Required:
A Bachelors degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Policy or related field centered on urban issues or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.
Desired:
A Masters degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Policy or related field centered on urban issues or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software or related GIS and spatial analysis software. Experience with map design and mapping. Experience developing and managing partnerships with government and/or community organizations. Experience in program planning and administration. Experience with evidence-based planning and policy approaches to urban and community issues. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this job profile is $47,700-$62,300 per year. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the units available budget, and the candidates qualifications.
