Community Service Officer

In this role, you'll be a visible and trusted presence in residence halls and throughout the university, creating a safe and supportive environment for all members of our community. Community Service Officers connect with students, faculty, staff and visitors, help address concerns, and contribute to practical solutions that strengthen the campus experience.
What You'll Do
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols, monitoring residence halls and surrounding areas, monitoring behavior, securing buildings and property, and reporting disturbances.
- Respond to minor calls for assistance as assigned or until a police officer arrives.
- Assist students with accessing and navigating university resources.
- Help ensure building security through door access control and surveillance monitoring.
- Maintain order during special events.
This role is essential to our 24/7 campus safety operations. Most shifts are overnight, with occasional daytime hours for special events. Flexibility is required, including availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Shift differential pay is provided when applicable.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Ability to use standard technology, communication tools, and equipment required for the role.
- Ability to understand and apply policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirement.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and pre-placement physical exam.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of security experience preferred but not required.
