Duties and Responsibilities
The Compensation Coordinator supports the Assistant Director of Human Resources in the management of the University’s Compensation plans. The Compensation Coordinator performs staff support activities to develop, implement, and administer compensation policies and programs. Formulates recommendations regarding development and updating of salary structures, FLSA exemptions, job revisions, organizational structures, etc. May conduct desk audits, reclassifications and salary adjustments. Participate in and/or assist in conducting salary surveys and perform market competitive analyses to determine pay trends and practices to support development of the annual salary program and advise on individual employee pay decisions.

- Performs position classification studies, including analysis of written documentation; conducting online and on-site interviews with incumbents, supervisors, and/or managers as needed to clarify and verify data pertaining to classification studies; and reviewing organizational structures to determine appropriate class and salary levels according to USM compensation guidelines and policy;
