Who are we looking for?

We are seeking eligible existing QUT staff members for roles in various faculties under the Competitive Grant Researcher Arrangement (CGRA).

The Competitive Grant Researcher Arrangement (CGRA) provides an opportunity for researchers currently involved in eligible grants to extend their tenure through a further fixed-term contract. This arrangement also offers a potential pathway to ongoing employment, recognising and nurturing exceptional research talent within our academic community.

If appointed, you will be employed at an academic level commensurate with the grant you are associated with, and your appointment will be extended for an additional full-time, fixed term of two (2) years. This enables you to continue your valuable research contributions and further enhance your academic career.

Who can apply for a CGRA position?

We invite you to apply for a CGRA role if you meet both of the following criteria:

  • Hold a PhD; and
  • Are employed by the University in the last year of an eligible Competitive Grant.

For a list of the eligible Competitive Grants for 2025, please visit QUT’s TIEA and CGRA page on the Digital Workplace.

In support of our strategic priority of Indigenous Australian success, Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander staff are encouraged to apply.

Please note: Applicants must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the fixed-term appointment.
