Job Summary
Works under direction, is responsible for leading the development and execution of operational and departmental compliance reviews.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs compliance activities designed to assist management in the attainment of organizational objectives.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and/or conducts compliance investigations. Maintains compliance files and records.
- Schedules and conducts compliance reviews of policies, regulations, rules and procedures. Coordinates and assist with records, reports, initiatives, and communications.
- Develops a strategy for the efficient and effective completion of projects via a well-defined scope, fieldwork approach, and preliminary work programs. Develops and assess programs. Interprets policies, rules, and regulations and ensures they are followed.
- Recognizes potential operational risks of non-compliance and makes appropriate recommendations based on documentation and relevant facts.
- Analyzes newly enacted legislation and reports all new requirements to management along with a recommended plan of action for compliance.
- Prepares comprehensive reports. Prepare correspondence, compile data, and produce reports.
- May conduct financial or electronic audits. May conduct special investigations, program analysis, or research studies.
- May supervise the work of others.

Additional Responsibilities
- Maintains an organized, accurate, and up-to-date electronic file which consists of extensive complex and confidential records.
- Uses, maintains, and monitors various compliance mechanisms and software that support the administration of compliance programs.
- Updates the TAMIU Title IX, Civil Rights, and/or Athletic Compliance webpages and maintains the content organized, accurate, and up to date.
- Provides Bystander Intervention and/or Green Dot training for students and employees on a regular basis.
- May facilitate training for Athletes and Coaches on various topics including but not limited to Title IX, Civil Rights, Athletic Compliance policies and procedures as needed.
- May attend local and out-of-town games, tournaments, and competitions.
Minimum Requirements
- Education - Bachelor's Degree in applicable field.
- Experience - Six years of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP),
- Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS),
- Governmental Accounting Standards (GAS).
- Word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to:
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
- Various social media platforms and web design.
- Use discretion and good judgment in highly sensitive situations.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Title IX, Civil Rights, and/or NCAA laws, regulations, and compliance.
Other Requirements
- Evening and weekend work required.
- Travel required.
- Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.
- Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
Salary: $48,110.40/annually
