ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial air compressors.
- Service rotary screw, reciprocating, and other common compressor technologies.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, control, temperature, pressure, and airflow-related equipment issues.
- Perform compressor maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations and operating-hour intervals.
- Replace and service common compressor components, including:
- Air and oil filters
- Separators
- Lubricants
- Belts and couplings
- Valves
- Hoses and fittings
- Motors and starters
- Sensors and switches
- Controls and related components
- Inspect and service refrigerated and desiccant compressed-air dryers.
- Troubleshoot condensate drains, filtration systems, regulators, receivers, and related compressed-air equipment.
- Identify compressed-air leaks, pressure problems, excessive temperatures, moisture issues, and other system deficiencies.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting of motors, starters, contactors, VFDs, control circuits, and sensors.
- Evaluate equipment condition and provide recommendations for repair, overhaul, or replacement.
- Document equipment information, operating conditions, run hours, service findings, deficiencies, and completed repairs.
- Develop recommended corrective actions and clearly communicate findings to customers and internal service coordination teams.
- Support installation and replacement of compressors, dryers, receivers, filtration equipment, piping, and associated components.
- Perform general HVAC/mechanical service activities when required based on technician qualifications and customer needs.
- Maintain safe work practices including proper lockout/tagout procedures.
- Diagnose and perform minor HVAC system repairs.
- Worth both independently, and also within a team
- Be part of a periodic rotation for on call emergencies after hours
- Maintain detailed and complete records of maintenance, repair, and testing activities
- Maintain truck stock and inventory within company guidelines
- Develop and maintain client relationships including participation in client meetings
- Use computer/tablet/mobile devices to modify and monitor work order management system
- Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years experience in Commercial HVAC applications
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience diagnosing HVAC issues
- Keen eye for detail
- Highly organized
- Ability to self-manage and perform each essential duties beyond satisfaction
- Excellent time management skills
- Effective communication skills with a great attitude
- Must be able to pass background checks, drug screening
