Position Summary
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is looking for a part-time assistant in our Computer Integrated Machining labs. Our Computer Integrated Machining Lab Assistant helps manage workshop operations by supervising students, enforcing safety rules, and assisting faculty during hands-on manufacturing classes.
This is a part-time position with no more than 30 scheduled hours a week.
Required Education/Experience
- High School diploma.
- Minimum 6-12 months experience in machine shop environment.
- Manual/CNC milling and turning set up and operation a must.
- Print reading and creation.
- Computer skills a must (Microsoft ect. ect.)
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
- Computer CAD/CAM skills highly preferred.
Department: Machining Technology
Work Hours: 20-25 per week. Time of day flexible.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Review material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments and provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.
- Provide supplemental instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance, improve occupational skills, or prepare for academic or occupational tests.
- Organize tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning.
- Participate in training and development sessions to improve tutoring practices or to learn new techniques.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
