Consulting Dentist

Description

The Consulting Dentist's major responsibilities are to provide clinical and radiography laboratory instruction to dental hygiene students and assist in the administration of the clinical facility.

Examples of Duties

In collaboration with the Dental Hygiene Department Head and Program Chair, the part-time, Dentist will contribute to continuous review, planning, and general effectiveness of the programs, and accreditation guidance. Instructional responsibilities require a broad-based knowledge of the field of study in dental assisting and dental hygiene. The part-time, Dentist reports to the Department Head.

Minimum/Required Qualifications

Minimum of a Doctorate degree in dentistry with a minimum of two calendar years experience in the clinical practice of dentistry, and be currently licensed or eligible to practice in North Carolina. Formal instruction in education methods or a Master's degree earned in education, dental hygiene, or a related field is preferred but not required.
