Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm (Must have flexible schedule which allows for work and travel outside of regular business hours including weeknights and weekends as needed.)
Regular Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
Supervision Received: The Admission Counselor for Undergraduate, Online and Part-Time Learners reports to the Senior Executive Director for DGCE Admissions.
Supervision Exercised: None
Salary: $50,000 to $54,000 Annually (commensurate with education and experience)
General Statement of Duties:
The Admission Counselor will work with prospective part-time and online adult learners through the enrollment process. This position assists students with the application process, attends recruitment events both on and off campus, organizes/facilitates information sessions, and meets with prospective students to ensure a positive onboarding process to the University. The Admission Counselor will assist students through admission to acceptance meeting the needs of the adult student, while also collaborating with the day division staff to support a seamless campus recruitment process for all students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to:
Essential:
- Provide accurate information pertaining to the enrollment process, academic programs, university policies and services, and admissions criteria to prospective students and other related individuals and groups.
- Assist with implementation of yearly recruitment plans to meet recruitment goals.
- Assist with maintaining accurate and current communication flows within the CRM system.
- Creates and maintains prospect records in the CRM system.
- Assist with organizing, implementing, and visiting community locations, including community colleges, to attend recruitment fairs and other activities to recruit new students and groups.
- Organize and participate in on and off campus recruitment events such as open houses and virtual and in-person information sessions.
- Conduct phone, email, and other necessary modalities, campaigns to prospective students regarding events and application statuses.
- Maintain contact with prospects regarding status and completion of admissions file through registering for first course.
- Review and evaluate admission application files as assigned and determine admissibility per college admission standards and provide transferable academic credit information to prospective students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data and notes in Slate CRM.
- Initiate new projects and see them through to completion independently.
- Conduct individual appointments with prospective students throughout enrollment process.
- Assist with social media, web updates, campaigns, as needed.
- Work collaboratively with graduate student assistants to complete outreach tasks.
Non-Essential:
- Serve as liaison to other campus departments and committees as needed, and assist other functions of part-time/online enrollment as required.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience working with non-traditional students or higher education setting.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Experience in web-based CRM and/or higher education data systems preferred.
- Knowledge of higher education principles, practices and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as public presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to interact with students, faculty, staff and the public.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to prioritize.
- Availability for evening and weekend hours, including one evening per week.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to think critically and offer creative solutions in a rapidly changing educational marketplace.
