Contractually Limited Term Instructor I - Department of Biology
The Department of Biology invites applications from candidates with expertise in lab instruction in Introductory Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Human Biology for a Contractually Limited Term Instructor I position for the period of July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
We are searching for an excellent instructor who is passionate about lab-based teaching. Primary teaching responsibilities include the labs for BIOL 1113 Organisms and Their Environment 1 (heredity and ecology), BIOL 2013 Cell and Molecular Biology and BIOL 1863 Applied Human Biology. BIOL 1113 and BIOL 2013 are required courses for Biology majors, while BIOL 1863 is required for students in Kinesiology.
Applicants must have at minimum a Master’s, or equivalent experience, in biology or a closely related field. The department is particularly interested in an individual with a strong interest in teaching, a broad knowledge of biology, cell biology and human biology. Evidence of quality teaching can include, but is not limited to, a statement of teaching philosophy, positive endorsements from referees, course evaluations if available, and/ or demonstrated performance in other teaching related activities, including student supervision and mentoring. Applicants are encouraged to provide evidence of previous contributions to an academic program (including course development) and to the candidate’s discipline or profession, including professional organizations or community groups, if available.
Qualifications:
- Earned Master’s and/ or PhD in biology or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
