Cook - TE
The TE – Cook position is for a high-volume operation in the Union South Production Kitchen. This cook must be able to read, understand, and execute standardized recipes. Must be able to multitask and complete daily prep, cook, and cleaning tasks quickly. This position has a higher level of food safety knowledge and must adhere to local food safety regulations. This position requires good communication amongst supervisors and team members.
Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods. Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas. Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Located at UW-Madison's Union South Building. Wage is $18.36 per hour. This position will work on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Hours depending on operational needs between 9am - 7pm.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
- Trains and guides student workers
- Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods
- Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
