Coordinator, Financial Aid/Advising
Position Summary
Serve as point of contact and liaison for students who are homeless, at risk of being homeless and other specialized populations; conduct weekly outreach to homeless/at risk students providing them with educational funding options and community resources; provide financial aid education to community partners who work with homeless/at risk students; participate in and lead outreach initiatives within the JCCC community and externally with high schools and partner organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of three years' experience in financial aid; preferably at a community college
- Customer Service Experience

Position Details
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Meet with current and prospective students and parents via phone or in-person to respond to general and complex questions regarding financial aid programs and individual funding needs.
- Make professional judgment decisions regarding student financial aid eligibility while adhering to all Federal Title IV regulations, state statutes, and institutional policies.
- Maintain working knowledge of all Federal Title IV, state, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Attend required meetings and applicable professional development training sessions.
- Provide feedback regarding possible improvements to financial aid processes and procedures.
- Perform general office duties, such as providing front desk coverage, answering incoming calls, and assisting with virtual chat/email inquiries.
Other duties as assigned.
