Position Summary: The Coordinator for Residence Life is a full-time, twelve-month, live-on, exempt position reporting to an Assistant Director for Residence Life. The Coordinator for Residence Life (CRL) is responsible for developing community for 300 – 600 residential students. CRLs are responsible for providing programming, leadership development, supervision, and advising for their community.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree with concentration in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Facilities Management, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Post-baccalaureate experience working in Housing and Residential Programs (Residence Life).
Special Instructions to Applicants: Upon hire, the selected candidate must have proof of completion of their Master’s Degree.
Recruitment Range: Commensurate with experience, plus a monthly campus allowance of $400

Key Responsibility: Supervision and Leadership
- Supervise, train, and evaluate 6-14 student staff.
- May supervise a graduate student.
- May supervise and coordinate hall desk operations and supervise desk assistants.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of departmental goals and initiatives.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with staff.
- Provide appropriate referrals to other university departments/resources as needed.
- Serve on an on-call duty rotation.
- Manage hall budgets.
- Work with Administration and Facilities staff for community needs.
Key Responsibility: Student and Community Development
- Coordinate, plan, evaluate, and oversee the implementation of programming and community building in the residence hall.
- Serve as a judicial hearing officer for hall conduct.
- Advise Hall Council.
- Coordinate and support academic initiatives in the hall and department.
- May work with a Living Learning or Themed Community.
- Cultivate a positive and engaging living environment that fosters a sense of belonging and enables students to build positive relationships with one another.
- May teach a course.
- Maintain high visibility and availability, including attending community events, regularly walking the community, and interacting with residents.
Key Responsibility: Administration
- Perform administrative duties associated with maintaining a residence hall community.
- Maintain accurate accounting of allocated funds and expenditures.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members, departments, and offices across the University to foster strong partnerships.
Key Responsibility: Other Duties
- Serve as a representative of Housing and Residence Life on various departmental, divisional, and university committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director(s), Associate Director, or Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life.
