SUMMARY:
The Coordinator, Honors and Undergraduate Research is responsible for supporting Honors student engagement and the undergraduate research initiative. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Honors Student Programs and Undergraduate Research, the coordinator serves as the front line of communication and support for both prospective and current students seeking to become involved with the Honors College or undergraduate research opportunities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as the main point of contact for prospective, incoming, and current Honors College and undergraduate research inquiries.
- Provides advising and guidance for students engaged in Honors and/or undergraduate research.
- Manages the university’s platform for tracking student inquiries and completion of curricular and co-curricular Honors and research badging opportunities.
- Track completion of Honors by Contract courses to coordinate Honors course designation with Registrar’s Office.
- Assists in planning of educational and social engagement events for prospective and current students.
- Provides support for the undergraduate research initiative by assisting with event planning and execution.
- Serves as the main point of contact and hiring liaison for the federal work study research assistantship program.
- Develops and maintains the undergraduate research social media presence and creates content in line with university brand guidelines.
- Provides mentorship and direction to the Student Honors Council.
- Maintains faculty research interest database to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Teaches Honors seminar courses as needed, up to two sections per semester
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Two (2) years of related experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Proficient in written and oral communication.
- Ability to: Multi-task and work well as part of a team. Work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and deadlines.
