PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Coordinator III, Community Outreach provides oversight and facilitation of day-to-day and some long-term operations in the outreach department for community outreach and non-traditional students. This position plays a strong role in leading and planning, development, success, evaluation and improvement in this area. This position will also coordinate logistics, services and support surrounding significant/diverse programs in the community, as well as supervise staff. Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices and provides regular updates to supervisor. Frequent evening and weekend hours required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Attend college fairs, community job fairs, and business functions, and build relationships with businesses, community organizations, and external partners to seek opportunities to recruit and provide college information to community members and non-traditional prospective students
- Act as the representative for the campus for outreach events and activities to which System Office requests and/or invites the campus, and participates in campus recruitment and registration events
- Supervises part-time and/or full-time staff within the department directly and indirectly, and leads special projects as needed
- Assist supervisor with developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies of communications and events for campus recruitment and outreach, to include student tracking, email and text communications, call campaigns, etc.; Analyzes results and makes recommendations for revisions to objectives and strategies
- Enters, tracks and maintains a variety of data, including documents, spreadsheets, and databases, as well as provide activity reports regarding all outreach, internships, meetings, and activities to supervisor
- Coordinate standing internship programs to accompany outreach efforts
- Monitor and purchase resources such as promo items, equipment, and marketing materials needed within the department; Submit requisitions, and review and approve/deny purchase requests in accordance with the budget; Assist supervisor with management of department budget.
- Works with College Relations to create and share templates and marketing collateral, and maintain outreach department website pages to ensure they are updated with most recent information
- Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
