• Total Remuneration $125,827 to $136,078 pa (including salary of $106,326 to $114,988 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)

We are seeking a passionate professional to step into the role of Coordinator Indigenous Engagement and help drive meaningful, long‑term change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at CQUniversity. Your work will directly shape programs, pathways and initiatives that open doors and strengthen futures.

In this position, you’ll lead a dedicated team while building strong relationships with schools, community groups, industry partners and internal staff. You will implement programs, conduct events and engagement activities that showcase opportunities, support smooth transitions into university life and enhance the visibility of Indigenous programs across our regions. You’ll also contribute to strategic leadership, mentor staff, and help shape initiatives that improve participation, retention and long‑term success.

Position Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous peoples and communities.
• Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of CQUniversity policies, procedures and relevant higher‑education legislation, including the Indigenous Student Success Program (ISSP) and associated funding guidelines.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills in an administrative environment with a demonstrated commitment to continual improvement, innovation and learning to achieve goals.
• Proven leadership, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities, including experience guiding a small team, managing performance and fostering a positive, student‑focused service culture.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse groups and deliver responsive, culturally informed support.
