Coordinator Member Services
Position Purpose:
The Coordinator of Member Services is an integral part of University Recreation and Well-Being and is responsible for complete oversight of Welcome Center operations and member services assistants. This position provides leadership and direction for 30 student employees across the Welcome Center and Member Services Operations. The Coordinator ensures clear service expectations, provides cross-training to develop transferable skills, and enhances the overall member experience.
This position also manages membership processes, point-of-sale operations, locker rental, and equipment checkout. The Coordinator develops recruitment and retention strategies for non-student members, implements customer service and membership sales training, and collaborates across the department to support revenue generation, operational effectiveness, member engagement and visibility of University Recreation programs and services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Sports Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Previous experience in recreation or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of one year student staff supervision and development.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
NOTE: a two-year graduate assistantship or one academic year internship in recreation, sports management or related field is the equivalent to one year of professional experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field.
- Experience with customer service, learning outcomes, and technology (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Innosoft Fusion and WhenToWork, and EMMA software).
- Demonstrated experience in utilizing technology to communicate with and train student staff.
