This position is generally scheduled Monday through Friday for approximately
24 hours per week. The specific work hours will be determined upon hire based on program and operational needs. Occasional weekend work may be required; however, weekend assignments are rare.

Description of Job Function
- Provides wrap-around support to YouthBuild Orange County participants. Assists at-risk youth in obtaining academic and occupational skills training, support services and transitioning to full-time employment and the postsecondary environment.
- Facilitates youth intake assessments and determines participant eligibility under program guidelines.
- Develops individualized plans in accordance with participant needs and implement plan by providing resources, support to meet participant goals. Works with program staff and community partners in identifying barriers to learning and makes recommendations to enhance student success.
- Reviews and evaluates student progression towards program completion. Provides regular contact and coaching to program participants to accomplish program requirements.
- Determines participant incentive amounts bi-weekly and completes proper documentation for performance-based incentive payments for students, in collaboration with grant community partners.
- Assists YouthBuild Orange County GED Instructor with classroom management, student communication, and test scheduling. Works with the Assistant Director of YouthBuild to ensure grant, state, and federal regulations are met.
- Monitors student enrollment and assists with maintaining records and documentation on each program participant as well as other program-related files.
- Attends meetings and training with college staff and external partners to support implementation of program activities, including grant steering committee meetings. Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with individuals at all levels within the college and the community.

Required Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
Required Field of Study
Experience in education, counseling, working with students and/or case management
Other Required Qualifications
One (1) year of experience working with students in an educational setting to include such things as developmental advising, holistic student support, and/or student engagement.
Preferred Type of Experience
Experience working in youth programming.
Experience working with grant or non-profit experience.
Experience with crisis intervention and support.

General Working Conditions
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus.
