Counseling Student Clinical Supervisor
Job Summary
The Counseling Student Clinical Supervisor clinically supervises and assesses counseling students during their practicum/internship semester. This role is responsible for clinical supervision, including monitoring, assessing and evaluating student counselors.
This is a temporary position with an expected end date of 8/15/2026. This position may be extended or shortened based on availability of funds and/or departmental need.
Core Responsibilities
- Clinically supervises student counselors.
- Assesses student counselor case conceptualization and counseling skills.
- Weekly interaction (i.e., an average of one (1) hour per week of individual and/or triadic supervision) with student counselors to provide feedback and guidance.
- Evaluates student counselor program-appropriate audio and/or videotapes of the student's interactions with clients.
- Meets with cooperating site supervisors.
- Grades and reviews student progress.
- Coordinates with course instructor and/or Clinical Assistant Professor/Director of Community Family Life Center.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master's in Counseling or a related field.
- Three (3) years of related work experience.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
