Job Description Summary
In compliance with Article 9 of the agreement between the PFT and the District, probationary and tenured faculty are invited to apply to the following full-time, tenure-track faculty vacancy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides academic, vocational, personal, and disability adjustment counseling to persons eligible for services from the Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSPS)
- Prescribes services based on educational limitations resulting from disability for all eligible students.
- Develops and monitors Student Education Plans
- Assists instructors and students in making appropriate modifications for classroom accommodations.
- Maintains individual disability student files with all mandated forms according to Federal and State laws and regulations.
- Conducts scheduled individual counseling sessions.
- Teach counseling and guidance courses as assigned in accordance with established course outlines and expectations.
- Assist students in clarifying their educational goals, developing student education plans (SEPs), selecting courses, and determining appropriate accommodations.
- Provides general counseling which includes providing students with information and advice regarding educational programs, occupational programs and degree and transfer requirements.
