Counselor-Eating Disorders
Essential Job Duties
The Counselor provides professional individual and group counseling services, outreach programming, and consultation to NC State students, as well as to university administrators, faculty, staff, and others concerned about student well-being.
This position supports all functions of the Counseling Center, with a specialized focus on disordered eating and body image concerns.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling
- Conduct psychological assessments
- Offer developmental and crisis counseling
- Provide couples counseling
- Evaluate students for university withdrawal
- Develop and deliver outreach programming
- Consult with faculty, staff, parents, and others
- Provide evaluations and recommendations regarding students with academic or conduct concerns
- Participate in after-hours "on-call" rotation and occasional evening office hours
- Assist in training and supervision of practicum students, doctoral interns, master's-level interns, and clinical counseling associates
- Perform general administrative duties

- Participate in the Eating Disorders Treatment Team
- Develop and facilitate outreach focused on body image and eating concerns
- Provide individual and group therapy addressing eating and body image issues
