Counselor
Job Details
The Counselor provides direct clinical services to students using a brief, developmentally focused model that emphasizes coping skills, resiliency, and academic success. Counselors collaborate with campus and community partners to support students using solution-focused interventions and resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based, short-term interventions.
- Conduct intake assessments, risk evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to facilitate continuity of care.
- Support students in developing coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and resilience.
- Make appropriate referrals to campus resources and community providers when needs exceed the scope of center counseling services.
- Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation.
- Participate in outreach, prevention programming, and consultation with faculty and staff.
- Provide internship supervision and support within their scope of practice.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, FERPA, and Title IX.
- Have knowledge of ADA and 504 Student Accessibility and Support Services documentation and outreach.
- Support daily office operations and administrative functions to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent
Preferred Qualification
- LAC, LMAC, or LCAC
COMPENSATION:
The salary for this position starts at $65,000 and is negotiable based on qualifications, education, and experience.
