Courier/Print Assistant

Position Summary

Effectively support Graphic Services to pick up and deliver printed material using a university-supplied vehicle. Safely operate vehicles on and off campus to efficiently perform duties as directed by the supervisor. Understand and operate the package scanning system to capture delivery confirmation. Assist in bindery and mail services as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education

  • High School
Work Experience
  • 2 years' package delivery experience.
Work Skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow directions with precision. Courteous to customers, positive attitude, and highly organized, with strong capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Specific Job Knowledge
  • Operate university-supplied vehicles to safely, effectively, and efficiently deliver print jobs, proofs, and related packages. Operate scanning system to verify delivery. Maintain accuracy and knowledge of campus, faculty, and staff. Maintain effective delivery routes and ensure deliveries are made in accordance with due dates.
  • Print bindery knowledge helpful.
Equipment Knowledge
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record and no traffic violations.
  • Skilled in the safe operation of cargo vans and box trucks. Must meet and maintain Villanova University driving privileges in accordance with Risk Management's Motor Vehicle Record policy for university drivers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 plus years of experience in print binding and mail operations.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours

Exposure to all seasons of weather. Noise from machinery. Ability to lift 60lbs, ability to load and unload vehicles. Occasional mandatory OT.

Salary Posting Information

This position falls within hourly grade 10 and the range for this position is $22.08-23.31/hr. The final salary will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate's qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity.
