Court Services Liaison
Job Summary
The UW-Madison Police Department is hiring a Court Services Liaison. The Court Services Liaison, under the general supervision of the Investigative Services Sergeant, provides administrative support, preparation, and coordination with sworn officers of court documentation and records. Primary responsibilities include providing court-related services to the general public, attorneys, and other government agencies.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Required to work special events or assignments as designated by the Department.
- Maintains, reviews, and validates citations through the automated system
- Completes criminal intake process for all cases sent to the District Attorney for prosecution and tracks progress of case throughout the system
- Creates and maintains a daily court schedule of cases and distributes court schedules to line level police officers and detectives
- Upholds high integrity, professional, and ethical standards
- Reviews and prepares police reports, evidentiary items, photographs, and other physical evidence and documentation
- Assists records and management staff in fulfilling open records requests related to law enforcement calls for service and reports and other records related issues
